Why would you look at YouTube for Family History?

When I was asked to prepare a presentation for the “It Doesn’t Rain in the Cloud” seminar held recently I wondered  what I would find to enlighten and entertain an audience of family historians.

It soon became apparent that other than the videos of musicians, comedians, how to do anything there was also how to do genealogy.

If I was beginning family history research I would be bamboozled by the variety and number of videos. The big genealogical databases , Ancestry.com.au, findmypast.co.uk , My Heritage and familysearch.org, all have videos to help get you started, keep you going and keep you going and maybe even keep you going some more. Do investigate their learning centres or Wikis for more information about their offerings or go straight to YouTube and search. The links above will take you straight there.

Remember that YouTube has many videos to help you and I’ve only given you a handful. 
Do go to Search on YouTube as no doubt there will be many more videos appearing as I write this and by the time you read it there will be even more.  
So you would want to look at YouTube for family history. See what you can find.
